As part of your orientation, you should be asked to fill out a report on your trainer. Not sure what good it will do, but make sure you do that.

They stopped doing the student/coach reviews. At least, thats what my coach told me and our orientation group never filled anything out. We just had a brief discussion during phase 3 where we could mention problems.

I am hoping to make it to the terminal by the time I fnish my run tomorrow. Worst case, I might be 30 mins away. Cant wait to resolve the issues Im having. Not all of it is TransAm's fault, but they can fix it.

^ Hiya Honeybadger, glad you got your issues with your truck resolved. How are you feeling? I sat in the hotel last night and I will again tonight waiting for my truck to be out of the shop and assigned to me. I don't mind as I will have a single room tonight and I can rest up, be ready to roll in the morning when the truck is ready.

Not sure if I was in the group or not, I'll send you a PM when I know my truck number and I can be sure to say “Hi” in person when we get a chance. I am excited to get started and remain enthusiastic to start this job. :)

Oh, Darren did handle my problems with my aggressive trainer in an appropriate way. That trainer will not be causing problems for student drivers in the future.

Passport, hit me up some time, it would be great to meet face to face. I was all over the terminal yesterday, you might have even seen me as there arent nearly as many lady drivers as men.

Pete, I would love to have that run right now as thats exactly what I lost by being t-called to the yard! I just picked up a swap of combos gping to Georgia. Dang thing is bleeding out the back. YUCK.

I am currently sitting at...... You guessed it.... Kenworth! But nothing really bad. The guys on the yard did a software upgrade on my engine this morning and I was two hours down the road and found out my truck wouldn't go over 62. I was not a happy camper. I called Leasing and they got it straightened out. My truck is hooked up to the computer now and KW doesnt mind me staying here for my 10 either. It works out perfect and saves me from having to find patking in a truck stop this late. Double win.

^Glad you have your truck worked out, can put in some miles and make that money.

TransAm flew me and another guy down from Kansas City to their 2nd, smaller terminal in Rockwall, TX to pick up our trucks. They also sent two other new guys out to other places to recover failed L/O trucks and take them as their own. Mine is a 2011 KW 660, 300K miles. It is all good and fine, I like the way it tracks down the road. It is ment to be governed at 62 but it will run sustained at 65. The cruise control will only hold at 61.5.

The one big problem with the truck, it STINKS. The guy who had it before me was a smoker and a PIG. I don't think I am overly sensitive, the smell in the truck is a real problem, not just stale smoke, but filth. It was "cleaned" by the shop but they only really wiped it down. I have been cleaning it with disinfecting wipes and spray disinfectant. I look forward to a time when I can stop at a hotel or other, where I can get a proper water flow, good cleaner and scrub brush and really go to town. I would like to take out the seats and power wash them, but I don't think I will get that chance. Lucky, I think he never smoked in the bunk, cause the smell is not bad back there. If I can solve this stink problem, I will be very happy with this truck.

I got stuck over the weekend with a receiver who can not unload me until Monday, I hope after I get this unloaded first thing Monday morning, TransAm will have a lot of good runs for me to make up miles.

Yeah, onr of thosr guys went to Detroit and the other one went to FL to get trucks. Hope that wotked out for them. Ive had a heck of a time lately. Aftet I delivered my last load, I went to pick up at Coke in Chattanooga, but they refused to load the trailer because it had the reefer funk. Dunno what more I was supposed to do since as soon as my 10 was up I hadthe trailer washed out at the nearest truck wash. So I had to wait til the next day before tjey sent me to Anheuser Busch in Cartersville. I spent, no joke, EIGHT HOURS, at the shipper last night becausr I got a trailer that the tandems wouldnt slide. And they wouldnt let me leave without sliding them because I was 35000 on the drives and 30000 on the tandems. I went through two different mobile road assist guys and we finally got a yard jock to lift the trailer and moving the weight let it slide. Dropped in in the meat hole and i was 32080 on the drives and 34740 on the tandems. AB wouldnt rework the load, so TransAm had me take it and hit the shop at the TA up the road. Come to find out tje slide rails are bent and the drivers side is bowed in the middle and thats why it wouldnt slide. Jacking the trailer up in the shop allowed me to slide the tandems back a bit and by the time all was done it was daylight and my 14 was up so I spent my 10 at the TA.

On the bright side, KW screwed up and regoverned my truck at 68. WIN. I love it, and am being careful not to give TransAm a reason to hurry up and turn it back down. But it says all over the paperwork that KW faxed in 68Mph. Plus they were on the phone with our shop guys.
