United will hire anyone with a cdl n clean test. United is into volume, not quality

Safeway United out of Indy hauls mostly specialized freight. Those guys might as well call themselves freight drivers. Same with McCollisters

I was a mover OTR for 15 years. The way these guys think is that they are movers first, drivers second. If you are interested in jumping in with an agent, see who's around locally in your area. As an agent, they put you into the carrier national system, where you get all your tonnage. You'd haul out all the self-hauls from your own agency, mix in some carrier shipments to go with it, and return backhaul (hopefully) with carrier shipments. The reason I say run out of your own neighborhood, is that that's where you'll end up to load more if your short haul. You are right at home where the agent originates his most shipments. so you'll have lots of home time that way if you hub and spoke, going "back to the agent": means going back home

This is a good time to apply . Their busiest season is about to begin because many people want to wait until their children finish the school year before moving .
