No insurance or DOT registration (and avoiding the rules) always allows for cheap freight that is hard to compete with.
I think uShip should be investigated - but it probably won't.
Maybe it isn't their responsibility to verify shippers. I don't know as I refuse to ever visit that site.
All we can hope for is some of these clowns get caught (and many do) or the shipper has a claim and gee golly gee the carrier has no coverage. I wonder how that will work out for them?!
I got an ex buddy of mine trying to get into this type of work and thinks he is immune to needing to follow DOT and HOS rules since he is lower gross weight. Yet he is crossing state lines doing inTERstate transport.
I'm not gonna argue with him. Maybe he wont get caught....or maybe he will.

It's a TV show. These clowns are for entertainment only. I would trust a load to a truck school wonder before any of them. That clown with the tractor couldn't drive a thirsty dog to water. I have fond laughter for the rest, their just want to be's. I'm Heavy Haul. I got a lot of laughter out of that guy.

I dont know how some of these guys even pay for fuel or anything else. My rig cost me about $1.85 a mile just to cover all operation cost, (im insurance poor) seems like every time i turn around there is a new fee for everything. Thinking about giving it up and staying local.

I messaged him and asked how he could pull a trailer and be under 10,000 lbs . He responded '89 S 10 pickup with 5x8 trailer . -
Anytime you cross state lines with even a u haul trailer and you are pulling freight no matter how much it is or weighs and you are getting paid for it it is concidered commerce and u fall under the dot rules. I pulled my race car from vegas to texas in my pick up with an enclosed trailer and texas dot stopped me and asked me if I was racing for money. Of course I said no and after checking the total weight he let me go but only after saying I know you are racing for money but cant prove it. That would have been commercial use for commerce and I would have had to have all the permits, dot numbers, logs so anyone who thinks just because they are under #10,000 is sadly wrong. RW
Hanadarko and rollin coal Thank this. -
Oh let me add one more thing. This has been a battle ongoing with DOT and toterhomes and double stack trailers for racing. The only legal way around it are those words we put on the back of the trailers... Non Commercial Non Commerce they usualy leave us alone when they see that along with the not for hire lettering in the toter.

What happens when one of you have an accident and hurt or kill someone because you do not adhere to the rules and regulations.
I guess if they were doing it and struck a family member, you would just be okay with it.rollin coal Thanks this. -
