IDK about that although I know they can be nicer about sending you home if you are totally up front with your medical history and it results in disqualification . A guy in my orientation group mentioned being on a certain type of medication ( I won't mention it here for discretion) but it took forever for them to find out if it was going to be problematic they let him stay one last night At the campus inn instead of dumping him off at the dirtydoghouse at 9 or 10 at night

It depends on the circumstances. If it's a situation beyond your control, or something you disclosed that later becomes a problem- then yes, they'll pay your way home. If it's over something that you failed to disclose, or you refuse to take a sleep test ordered by our doctor for instance, then you're on your own.

Best advice... tell 'em everything, and cooperate!

I have no problem taking the sleep test as I know they will have me do as soon as they see me. I am obese, but went to the doctor and I have no diabetes. I do have high blood ,but taking medication for that.

Hi.I have been reading this forum about a month and a half now and found it very informative, so would first like to thank all the experienced drivers for their input. I am wanting to apply to prime trucking hopefully within the next few weeks. I like the training process of prime as I am alot better at learning hands on rather than in a classroom and sounds like they have you training longer than the cdl schools. I also like the way the push for honest people.I am waiting on a highway patrol background to come back right now because when I got a dwi 10 years ago the prosecuter told my attorney I had a previous one years previous I was unaware of. Now wait I know when I was taken in for one but never appeared in front of a judge just met the prosecuter and signed a paper and left. I guess I should have paid more attention to what I was signing. If I do have the previous will it keep prime from hirimg me with that amking it number2. Also I have been where I work for almost 7 years and we get random urine test. The job I had before this one was for a week and then failed a urine test. It was not a driving job but with that being a drug infraction within 7 years (no criminal charges) will that throw up a red flag? Heres my work history current place almost 7 years the one before it 1 week before that aprox. 4 months and another one aprox. 2 months and before that 6 and 1 half years at the place I went back to at the place for a week and failed u/a. I am going to disclose everything although not sure on specific times at the jobs previous to the one I have now. How specific must the dates be as long as I list them all. I have made my share of mistakes also during all this I have raised my son for the last 7 years alone which graduated last year and will be leaving for the army to become a mp in hopes to eventually become a highway patrol. He is my best accomplishment and have to give God the credit for making him such a great kid. If someone can help me with my questions I would greatly appreciate it and thanks in advance

    Hoblog -

Only a recruiter will be able to answer those questions, and the only way to know for sure if Prime will hire you is to apply.

    http://primeinc.com/drivers/driver-qualifications.html

"No failed or refused drug or alcohol test in the last three years (this includes DWI's, DUI's and BAC's)."

As for your failed drug test... If it was a company performed test, that doesn't count for anything. To be valid, it had to be done in a certified facility, by certified techs, with proper chain of custody performed.

Also, only give them what they ask for; nothing more. If they ask for ten years of driving work history or five years of non-driving work history, and this is your first driving job, only list the jobs held in the last five years.

    PChase and hoblog Thank this.

Ok I thought you had to list 10 years for everything and I don't want to hide anything. My last dwi was 2003 so I know the time is there and hopefully I will have my background report back in the next week or so then apply. If my past cost me I am the one who done it and can't blame no one but myself thanks

Is Prime still wait-listing female students? I want to apply, but I've heard some women have had to wait 6+ months to get a trainer and I just can't wait that long. Do they have any option where you can sign a waiver or something to go with a male trainer?

Nope. No exceptions to the policy. The owner doesn't want any more incidents like the one that got this going... it's unfortunate, but it is what it is.
