Im on a Target Produce load. Delivery date 2/12 @ 1300
I get here last night and decide to drop in and see if I can get in early.
Gate guard say no, your appt is actually 2/13 1300
I call produce to have them check the appt time and this morning I get an updated Load assignment.
    Deliver 2/13 1300

    WHAT THE FRICK !!!!
This is going to give me a 2100 mile week ... with a T5 student onboard.

Let me just go on record as not liking the north east much with a particular emphasis on NYC. Shortly after my last post the highway started moving. Down the road a piece I see a chassis and engine still attached to the trailer being hooked to a tow truck. A little past this is the cab (or whats left) on a flatbed, then a third flatbed with a 4 wheeler in not too bad shape, then a fourth flatbed with a bunch of loose debris from the semi. This was on the wb side, but closed both sides. So I get to my first drop m15 mins late, my second 30 mins late, then I head to my drop in Maspeth, NY. I call and get my verbal routing which I write down then proceed to get myself lost, gave the navigo a try which got me close, but there was nowhere to park so I tried to go around the block and got hopelessly lost again. So I call and get Bill on the phone. What a guy! He stayed on the phone with me and finally got me there, I parked the truck (illegally I'm sure) in front of the bus terminal across the street. I run inside and "were closed, 5:30 tomorrow". They told me I could park in the lot over night, and there is already a Stevens driver there. So I back up and make the left into the lot only to find that it is so tiny there is no turning around. There are also 2 other companies using that lot. I ended up moving my truck back and forth for several hours till the one in the back closed, then I pulled back there and tried to get some sleep. I think I got about 4 hours. Now it's morning and I get to back out into the street after backing around a bunch of cars to get there, swing around and back into the lot then around into a dock inside the building. As soon as I'm empty they were screaming at me to leave. I made it out alive and got me a Hershey load going to the west coast. Currently sitting in the Pilot in Duncannon, PA watching it fill up. I don't mind going into hunts point but I don't want to go through that crap ever again.

    OK, I'm done whining now.

Come on, the NE is no different than anywhere else except for all the people and streets laid out in the 18th century.

Jmorgan,. the school in denver is probably careers world wide, actually in keensburg It is an excellent school probably better than Stevens own school. The staff is wonderful patient and make sure you have the foundations. If you feel unsure about your skills in anything they will assist you until you feel confident. The staff student ratio on the road is 3:1 and on the skills backing areas 6:1 You wont find a better bunch of guys that take pride in the students they turn out. Study for your permit before you get there so that you can take full advantage of the time you have there. The housing is much better than at Dallas community house dorm style with full amenities, and no shuttle van lol. If you have any questions PM me

Well survived my 2 days on the yard, funny thing my APU worked great since november both heat and AC I take my truck off the yard and lo and behold I have an ENG and ALT code. Funny how that crap happens. Got a load to pueblo, delivered and did an emergency repower to run a load in 5 miles to its final in pueblo, LOL Now I am sitting on home time trying to figure out what meat patch they gonna send me to out of here so I can plan on getting my APU repaired by the real mechanics.

    Holcomb or Dodge City

My APU has been worked 4 times in the last 6 months. Twice on the yard and both times followed by a trip to Thermoking. Once in SLC and once in Vineland NJ. Vineland worked out great, 1/2 mile from final. Got empty, got fixed and got a load.

    TBT 5150 Thanks this.
