Husband and I were team drivers for PAM in 2009, and due to a death in the family I had to come in off the road. Hubby ended up going and driving for Knight this last year. Now that we have a grip on everything going on in our life I am going crazy trying to get back out on the road.

We recently saw an ad for US Xpress and submitted our information and are currently waiting for the call back.

    Now for the fun part.

We have no problem running. The issues we are approached with are we have two small children, 6 and 4 to be exact, which we have a great home support system, is home time an issue? As in every weekend or every other weekend.

Also what is the pet policy? I saw on the website that pets are welcome, but I was wondering if there is a weight limit or breed limit. We have a family GSD that is spoiled rotten and I hate to have to get rid of her as we have had her since she was 6 weeks old and she is a year old now. She is non aggressive just very lazy and laid back.

Any information regarding the company and if they would be good for us please let us know. Good or bad we would love to hear it.

You are not going to get home every other weekend with USX. There are companies that do offer this but USX is not a good choice if this is what you need

What on adverage is home time? We live in the center of the nation,...literally. lol As long as we can get home at least sooner than every 57 days that would be better than where we were.

Don't count on it.... i recently spoke with a USX-driver who has problems getting home in Virginia, whereas I haul through VA at least once or twice a week... They are running drivers all over, but HT seems to be a problem.

Me and my wife have been thinking about team driving. We have been married 22 years and our last child graduates this year. I have my CDL class A, but have less than 3 months of experience and that was a long time ago, although my driving record is spotless. My wife does not have a CDL, bu I was thinking of enrolling her into the community college course. We have a ton of questions for you two and would appreciate any help.

That is almost a mirror image of what my husband and I did in June of this year. Married 26 yrs...got the last one in college, he was already driving and I went to a community college, now we work for USX because they would hire me as a student.

Gettinthere, How do you all like working teams for US Xpress? I have read great stories from NoCoCraig. They have been great for providing excellent information.

You are welcome. Just remember, the first six months are pretty tough. Keep a good attitude and it gets better. I cannot control all the crazy people around me but I can control how I respond to them.

    raetnrunner Thanks this.
