Just left a company I had been with almost a year, all of a sudden a report on my DAC says I done damage in kalamazoo, mi. they failed to check my elogs, on that day(I have copys of all my elogs) i was in kalamazoo for 1.2 miles, took me 54 minutes to get to grand rapids to pick up my load, i am disputing this claim, it had no details. What should I do?? this is horrible just because I left for a better company which was a mistake. I have a feeling they wont fight my dispute, should i let it go or hire a good lawyer??? Confused, what they did to my DAC was very low, what would you do if you can prove your innosence?

I am not sure the exact procedure, but you can dispute erroneous reports on your DAC report. And if the new company already hired you before you gave notice to the old company it shouldn't be an issue. They would have checked you out before the negative stuff got put on your Dac. Also, there are many companies that don't check DAC files anyway. So, if your MVR and CSA are clear, you will be able to find another job, and eventually the DAC issue will become a non-issue anyway. Good Luck.

bad thing is the new company did not work out, parted w/a handshake, and it seems everyone is checking dacs, im sure it will work itself out. thanks

Nothing you've said disputes that you might have damaged something in Kalamazoo.
Your logs support the fact that you were there on that day, for however short a distance or time, but do not in any way prove your innocence.
In that time you could have damaged a stop sign, or something, and not have even noticed it.
I doubt a lawyer, or court, would see it any differently. -
I disagree and thats why I am with TVC. Fight EVERYTHING! Its your record. Also, if it is found that the old company put a false claim on yer DAC .. You have a law suit against them ... Them just knowing you have an attorney on the matter, they will most likely remove it. The burden of proof is on the Company. Remember, you are being "accused" ... We are NOT automatically guilty as charged if we fight it. Prob is, Companies know that 99% wont do anything about it and just take it like a Sheep.

Put down the facts.. the company has 30 days to respond or HireRight has to drop it off. Suggest that the company provide proof of damage.Paloma Thanks this. -
