I will be moving to Missouri in the next few months. I can go whenever, no holdups to worry about. I have 13 plus years experience between LTL and a private fleet delivering chemicals. Can anyone give me some companies that would be worth applying to out there? I will be living about 45 mins from Springfield and I am not opposed to LTL or being out overnight a couple of nights a week. Not afraid to work but would like to make a good living and get decent benefits. It is time to get out of the Northeast and try something new. I've had 2 jobs in the last 12 years and my driving record, background, medical and credit are all good. Thank you in advance to all that reply.

Which direction from Springfield? That is not a bad area right on I-44. I live in Kansas City, alot of companies and tons of jobs around here. Food service, Gas hauling are a couple of areas depending on what you want.

Can I ask why you are moving to Missouri? If I did not have family here it would probably be one of the last places I would want to live.

Good luck with your move and job hunt.

I haven't heard anything good or bad about this company BUT they do spam the St. Louis craigslist looking for drivers. It seems they always want end dump drivers and they only have 65 trucks that pull end dumps so I'm not sure why they run an ad every other day. Take that as you will.

I just looked for ##### and giggles. I don't see how anyone can find them to be a good company to work for? They don't even provide vision insurance. Did I miss it?

My wife has family there, and her parents just moved there this past November, and bought and closed on a house in December. Beyond that, everything is way cheaper there than here in NJ. NJ is the anti-christ of reasonable living. I am also tired of the day to day rat race of this region. I suppose for every negative thing I have to say about NJ or the northeast region, someone might have 10 good things to say about it. That's cool... opinions are like you know what... everyone has one. Most of the car and truck drivers that grind it out here are animals... safety is at the bottom of the to do list. Too many senseless accidents, injuries and deaths because of the over congestion and people always being in a hurry. Yes, I do realize that I will not escape that no matter where I go, but there has to be a better quality of life in Missouri than NJ. My inlaws property taxes on the house they bought are a whopping $900 a year, on 13 acres in a 2500 square foot 3 bedroom house. Here in Jersey, with a smaller 3 bedroom and not even a 1/4 acre of ground, they were over $6000 a year. Their car insurance dropped in half, gas is cheaper, etc.

As far as direction, I'll be in Lebanon, about 45 mins northeast of Springfield, right off I44.

Definitely going to need full benefits and decent money. I have a 5 year old and may be getting custody of my other 2 daughters as well, so a family of 3, maybe 5. I am going to check out WalMart, Univar, Fedex Freight, and a couple of other places. I thought about gas, but I don't know if I could accept the rotating schedule and working holidays. I've got tons of hazmat experience so maybe something with chemicals somewhere may be possible. Thank you everyone for the suggestions... Keep 'em coming.

Lots of grain haulers in missouri.. i loved hauling hoppers and end dumps and made #### good money doing it too. Plus with hoppers most of ur driving is day time due to most mills not being open past 5 amd usually dont open until 6 to 8am.
