I agree you need some kind of collusion like the gas stations where they all sell gas for same price.

None of that should matter to you. Yeah $1000-$1300 gross a week was good money easy to make as a company driver about anywhere 10 years ago. Those days are long gone economy and regulations, they are and have been a changin... As someone pointed out, very well I think, the problem is too many with too much debt who have no clue the pricing power they really have and set unrealistic inflexible minimums then complain they are rolling cheap. If you can't afford to sit a week or 3 you are in a very weak position and will roll on others terms. That's being generous I could park for months.

Who said rates are cheap! Dont you see brokers on here complaining every day about how little money they are making! Everyone knows truckers are getting rich!
If youre not you dont know how to talk too people! Its all there! All you have too do is ask! Get on the phone call a shipper and say hey ! I own a flatbed ! He will say yes! And there you go on your way to riches!
You ask! How do i no? Well, i read it on a truckers forum! Just like last 8 yes since ive been a o/o never fails around the beggining of a new year! You will read! How its going to get much better the economy is looking up we expect a 7% increase! Hahaha
people its all a mind frick! Americas needs truckers and the powers that be will say anything to keep truckers except treat you like a human and with respect! meaning paying you a living wage.
So they lie to keep as many as possible ! Because you -we the truckers move america..Ironman6622 and SheepDog Thank this. -
This past week I have seen rates drop about a dollar a mile.....And the Brokers refuse to go up......
Had two loads offered to me today.....One was scaffolding with 8' tarp at $1.60/m to Denver.....
The other was coils with a 6' tarp with two P/U at $1.50/m to Aurora........
The first was from Carson....The second was from Anahiem and then Riverside........
Wow....Both of those loads would normally get at least $2.50/m...........
Too many trucks chasing not enough loads........ -
I see a common problem on here. One driver is raising a concern and a few others make him feel like he is the problem. RIDICULOUS. is everyone so self centerd and silo'd that you can't see what the guy is saying.
You na-sayers have all fallen for the tricks of modern day brokers. Designed to "divide and conquer". Have some conpassion and help the guy out with where to get some good rates. Don't shoot him down. ####. Stick together and show some solidarity.rockyroad74, mcgoo422000, SheepDog and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've decided not to go that route, I can't find any takers. Most are happy enough living on $10 an hour, living at home or having their bills subsidized by momma. They don't worry about being put out on the street. Those are the guys that are willing to do OTR. The ones who cannot fall back on others for help, and cannot find a better field to get into in their area.
