Is anyone making any money off ITS-loadboards exclusively! I am in the same position as RBHT was in! Except all my loads are off the"loadboards" and after 8 years of stagnation and all the magazines and optimist saying its gonna get better this year! Well! it hasnt! nothing ever changes but the rates! they keep getting lower! And we get more regulated by the day!

For the last two weeks i having been trying to go shipper direct! And it never works for me! maybe its the desperation in my voice. I have always tried to find direct shippers! And have a few just not were i live! Which i need! i live north of Knoxville Tn!
About 3yrs ago a man at gerdau=ameristeel in k-town told me to go buy a 53 ft trailer and I can haul there 60's ! Well i did that and called him back after purchasing a new 53, he tells me were not taking anybody on at this point! LOL
Trucking for me has been day after day full of disapointment and frustration! Allways talking to 20-30 Brokers a day! just to get a fair rate! By the time thats done! Its late afternoon then I drive all night! "rinse and repeat".
Also there is a local company here called A&S STEEL i have been trying to get on there for years and every time i drive by the lot is full of loaded trailers just waiting for a truck to pick them up! they are pre-loaded.
Well, the traffic mgr gave me corporates number. Told me i have to call them! so i did! and he faxed me some forms! and there requirements, which two of them presented problems for me!
Workmans compensation! which i no nothing about! except its suppose to be expensive! And they want a scac code! WHICH I HAD AT ONE TIME!
So i call him today and he has yet to call the plant here to ask them they can use another truck. But none of these people i talk too seem very enthused or act like they give a ####.
So! i have a feeling that again it wont pan out! sometimes i wonder if its me or the tone of my voice!

Anyway! my insurance is paid up until March 1rst... OR I HAVE TO PAY $700.00 FOR NEXT MONTHS PREMIUM!
I have taken off from trucking since last AUGUST! DEPRESSION! i sat in michigan for a week because the rates were so low and wasnt many loads to choose from! out of frustration and depression i went up the road to gun lk casino and lost $14000.00 dollars which tormented me.

I DONT NO WHAT TO DO! IM 50YRS OLD ! MY MONEY IS ALL BUT GONE I DID SELL A 48X102 FOR HALF WHAT IT WAS WORTH FOR SOME LIVING CASH.

I have gotten to the point were if i have too sit for any amount of time i get depressed and self destruct..has no one ever been like this or is every body happy and i am the only one with mental issues!lol
so in this time off i tried getting direct loads! because i need to keep moving.

Anyway ! WHAT SHOULD I DO! Iwould love to have the monewy for a local car wash or something! everything i have is paid for! I just think that what truckers get for what they give, SEEMS TO BE VERY UN-BALANCED..

THANKS TOO ALL YOU CHEAP___ BROKERS! WITH NO ASSETS! PUTTING UP NO FRONT MONEY FOR FUEL! AND CHARGING US QUICK PAY ON THE OTHER END! WE SHOULD CHARGE YOU A PERCENTAGE FOR US PUTTING MONEY UP FRONT! WHAT IT SHOULD BE IS BROKERS PAYING FOR THE FUEL UP FRONT PERIOD. THEN YOULL REALIZE HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS!

Another thing that has always bothered me! WHY IS IT THAT WE THE CARRIER PUT UP ALL THE MONEY!
THEN HAVE TO WAIT 30-90 DAYS TO GET PAID! And if we need our money quick! "which EVERYONE does" WE !PAY FOR QUICK PAY! HOW DID TRUCKING GET SO ##--ED UP? We are the ones with the TRUCK and the ASSETS and the RESPONSIBILTY! We put the money up front! deal with the goverment! THERE ARE ALOT OF THINGS IN TRUCKING THAT IS BACKWARDS! DOG EAT DOG EVERY DAY! Carriers get it from all sides while brokers get to go home in there cushy bed and laugh all the way too the bank!

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY! DOES NO ONE SEE THE INJUSTICE? ARE TRUCKERS SOO BLIND?

ANYWAY I HAVE NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS! I GAVE ALL THAT UP TO GET RICH IN TRUCKING.. SO I THINK OF FELLOW TRUCKERS AS FAMILY..

ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APRECIATED! AS I AM BETWEEN A HARD PLACE AND A ROCK! THANKS! BE SAFE!

trucking is all i no how to do! and maybe ! i dont even no how to do that.
    THANKS ALL! AND BE SAFE!

I feel your pain driver same stuff on every board though. And i just found out yesterday i got a little one on the way too. The problem isnt just the brokers though its the fact that we have drivers out there thall ship for 1.00/mile and are happy with that. I wont touch anything less than 2.00 per mile personally ill deadhead before i dscide to haul cheap i feel your pain but sometimes its the drivers as well as the brokers. Just need to load up the guns and start plinking i guess

The whole society is staring to suck really bad. It isn't just trucking. I tried to get out of trucking in 2011. Guess what, every factory job in the area paid just less than fair. No raises, and need to be related to the boss man to get ahead there. In just a few months I knew the job better than guys who had been there years, but still couldn't get a raise. I wasn't asking to be paid more than the guys with seniority, just be paid more inline with what I did for them. Just about every career path has a lot of people being taken advantage of by a few. Don't know the reason or the answer, but seems everywhere you look people are fed up and frustrated.

First off stay out of the Casinos they will destroy your life. Look for what is positive in your life and focus on that. Health? Take care of your self eat healthy, walk or jog get in shape. Next get your mind in shape by learning everything you can about the business of trucking. I am a newbie but I spend all of my time learning everything I can about the trucking business. An honest trucking business can still make a profit even following all of the rules and regulations. Find people or other businesses that are successful and copy what they do. Try to make connections with others in the business that you respect and learn every thing you can from them. Be willing to change I know you have been driving for a long time but have an open mind. Is your mileage crap? Fix that by utilizing proven ways that are available. Is it your lanes? Work different areas. Seems like from what I have read that freight goes thru different phases for different areas. Is it they type of freight maybe get a different type of trailer. These are not all inclusive my point is look at what is not working for you and what works for others.

Stay positive, get happy with yourself and be willing to learn and change. Don't get stuck in the negative game of blaming others.

The economy sucks in all businesses not just trucking. Everyone wants everything for nothing.

I make my own rules in life. You do NOT have to accept second best in life. If you demand more for yourself you WILL get it.

Hate to hear you are depressed that if a terrible thing to deal with. Just remember everything is temporary. In two years you will not remember what you did yesterday.

I am a newbie with trucking but I know how life works.

Get healthy mentally and physically, learn and be willing to change, feel good about yourself, set high standards for yourself and you will win!

    Good luck to you.

Mred, i have been down that road as well and i agree america is going to hell in a handbasket!

High speed im guilty of all that you said! My health is very bad ! But my depression wont let me get out of bed!
I was in the beggining as you are now! But you are correct in your statement and im glad to see you have the wisdom too see these things! We all do it we hit rock bottom then fight our way out of it time after time in life! A phrase that has allways helped me is! "all things come to pass". But until they do! Lol
goodluck to you! And yes casinos are death! Ive seen in with my parents...
Thing is alot of things are death out on the road. For me boredom is how it all starts.
    Thanks for you post!

I used to haul for brokers most of the time many years ago.
Battled to get direct freight from customers.
Even if you can get to see someone they just brush you off most of the time.
    Started hanging out at auctions.
There you meet decision makers who you would never get to via the front door.
You meet them when they have an immediate need for trucking services.
If you can help immediately then they often give you a chance.
They generally are cash flush or they would not be buying at an auction.
Worked for me as I have many long standing repeat customers I met that way.
Just be ultra helpful and take care of them and slowly you will build a customer base.

Freebrd one day at a time. Just fake it till you can make it. Set some goals for your self and everytime you make one set another.

I have been depressed, I have been a hundred pounds over weight and been thru divorce. But I FIXED the things that were wrong in my life.

I am in control of each day and every thing I do.
