This may be little late but I work for Ptl their not that but they do have some ###### people here u just got one for a trainer. But I can't complain because I get about 2500 - 2800 miles a week. Like to get more but they say im fleet avg. But ever come back I would work with you no problem.

Check with Milan Express and R.E.West; both companies based in TN.
MPH2 Thanks this. -
Don't burn any bridges though. You need to keep options open if something goes wrong at Western. Keep everything in perspective until you're back in the saddle. Someone at PTL is smart enough to dump the trainer, realizing he will eventually cost the company some big bucks by acting so ignorant; could be with a customer or road rage, etc.MPH2 Thanks this.

I decided to go with swift with no burning bridges. Thanks for the info

Boy you picked a hell of a time to become a truck driver. If I was you, I'd go drive a dump truck or a cement mixer. You'll be home every night, and make a little money to boot. You NEED to be home with your wife...not out here galloping the lower 48 making penny's on the dollar while she's thousands of miles away with a screaming newborn. That's a surefire way to wind up in divorce court. You aren't going to get any LTL or dedicated routes right now because you have no experience...and any trucking company that would actually care enough about you and your situation requires at least a year of experience. Unfortunately in the world of OTR big trucks, you're relegated to the training companies for at least the 1st 6 months. Go drive a belly dump or something...at least you'll be able to use that shiny new cdl while you're taking care of the home front.

A friend of mine has a son working for PTL. Not getting any miles, doing a lot of 24-48 hrs of sitting. When a ticket drops off his license in April, he's moving somewhere else.

If Swift doesn't work out for you, try R.E.West out of Ashland City, TN/ they have a flatbed division in upper middle TN somewhere. They also have van division that hauls lots of loads of hot water heaters. Also have their own CDL school if anyone is interested, but must be a TN resident to attend.
Milan Express has some linehaul also.
