It's a food delivery where I have to unload the product with a pallet jack or by hand for small deliveries to restaurants. Normally a 10-12 hrs work days in a 200 miles radius.Pmracing Thanks this. -

I'll second that

Better than a 53 foot trailer!
One: less to unload every day
Two: easier to get into restaurant parking lots! Hahahahaa
Great that the retiring gent is getting to train you. Bring a notepad and take notes.

OK, one question here: If you are home every day, why are they giving you a sleeper, rather than a day cab?

Sure I will Mikeeee!!
Just one thing to my newbie colleagues and students: "Listen, listen and listen to what your instructors have to tell you and do it the way they're telling you to do it, leave your ego at the door they're there to help us achieve our goals. Knock on all local doors first and be willing to adjust to the circumstances and always give your best. I have my tankers, doubles/triples and hazmat (already got fingerprinted and all that) endorsements and at the end won't need them but, I found this big opportunity".
I had my mind set for a major carrier as my starting company but I just couldn't get over the $250-450 a week for 8 weeks of training with long periods away from home and told myself: "do I have to go thru all that? There's gotta be better options!".
I definitively have to thank all the threads and comments encouraging us to do so, sorry that I can't remember names at the moment, but if you ever said that you know I'm talking about you. -
