No, you are not nuts. I got sick of driving and left a trucking company I had been with for almost 17 years. Left them feb 7, 2011. By dec 9, 2011 I was back in a truck. I should have called the company I left back. I miss them at times.

I just gave up a local job for a regional one. My reason was work was slow for the past 4 months and the bank account was taking a big hit. It was a great job, but if you can't pay the bills, it doesn't matter much.

I miss the long haul, to be honest. I don't care about the pay, I just miss the life of a long haul truck driver, it was the most memorable and best 3 years of my life. If it was not the fact that I'm a heavy equipment operator for the government and I get paid to drive bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders and eff stuff up, I'd be back behind the wheel.

I feel the same way....I'm local but working for a beer distributor who can't keep drivers because of low pay and pileling on the work...600 cases 20-26 stops...

im only making $600/wk gross for 50+hrs week...I've got an offer for OTR flatbed for .41/mi...I'm going to take the offer...I feel I can take care of my family better that way...no $$ right now..bills pileling up...I'm off weekends but so exhausted that I'm not up to doing anything...what's the point of being home if you can't enjoy being home to do what you want to do?
