The 2 mic jacks are supposed to allow the radio to be mounted in different ways while allowing max reach of the mic cord. Or if you mount it dead center of the cab you can add a second mic so you and a buddy can take turns talking on the radio w/o having to hand the mic over.

    sidepocket and Voltrucker Thank this.

Okay so now I'm looking for an amp to pair with it. The 980 that is. I'm thinkin it'll blow my midnight special 400 which is a MOSFET amp and I'm worried it won't be enough to get the finals going on my four pill. I have a 120watt rm Italy driver but the 980 will blow that up no two doubts about it. Think it'll run the four big pills? Will it blow the smaller MOSFET amp? Do I need to find a two by four or maybe a one by four?

How much power is the 980 putting out?

A straight 4 pill amp you will want a good driver for it, around 75-100 watts.

If your Midnight special 400 is this one, Your radio will drive it just fine. I would have the dead key set at 10 watts and let it swing. [TABLE="align: center"]

If your four pill is like this one. Straight four pill, same thing, your radio will drive it just fine. Same advice on the dead key and swing.[TABLE="align: center"]

I would not drive a 1x4 or a 2x4 with that radio. way to much for any amp with a driver pill, and a 2x4 is something I would be looking to sell to the first guy with cash.
