6 months. Then you can stay team,go solo or train to become a trainer . I personally came here to team with a partner already.

They pay $100 for the 3 day orientation, feed you cafeteria food and put you in private Covenant owned Motel. You get activated on Thurs and start getting your base training pay of either 450/week or 500/week if you're a vet. The non vets get 3cpm extra every mile the truck rolls in training if they have a hazmat endorsement.

How was the hotel? Do husbands and wives stay together or is it still women with women and men with men? What did you do for the first day when they decide if they will hire you? My concern is the pushing and pulling test, lifting weights for my wife, and blood pressure. I know Schneider is really fussy, but how is Convenant?

Not bashing the original poster of the thread but as far as nightrider57's questions go my suggestion to you would be to avoid these mega-carriers and you won't have to worry about your current questions and concerns.

Especially if you guys are going to be a husband/wife team! You guys are the "cream of the crop" and should have your pick of any company you want! Don't settle for one of these mega-carriers! You guys could make some serious money driving for the right company!

My wife and I teamed for Central Refrigerated and did very, very well. Though they are a large company they aren't a mega-carrier and still treat their drivers like human beings! Central really went above and beyond to help us succeed and I can't recommend them enough! As a husband/wife team instead of having a dispatcher at Central we worked straight with a planner. This was a god send! We were running 6000-7000 miles every single week! Our first year at Central we were there not quite 10 months and my wife was a new driver. We did well over $135,000! Our second year as owner operators we did over $230,000!

You guys have the potential to make some serious money as a husband/wife team. Take the time to do your homework and research the different companies. Stay away from the mega-carriers! They are just there to employ cheap inexperienced labor! Find yourselves a really good company to drive for and not only will make really good money but you will enjoy doing so!

Good luck to ya'll and if you have any questions feel free to "pm" me, I'll be more than happy to help you out...

    Nightrider

there are a lot of husband/wife teams here and at orientation you can get the same room.

You lift 20 lbs 3 times ,50 lbs 3 times ,simulate kneeling under a trailer and climbimg into a trailer, and you pull a bar at about 75 lbs of force. They measure your blood pressure after each activity.

They will if you want ,but 3 on a truck is to much in my opinion.

We just ran 6700 miles last week. To bad its base training pay otherwise I would have made $1440 gross for the week....
