Does anyone use AirTabs, and if so have you noticed a difference. Some of the reviews I have read show close to .5 mpg gain and improved handling. Before I go out and spend the money on them Im curious to know if im going to waste my money or not.

wow, I must be blind. I looked right at it and didn't see it. Thanks

ha ha no problem, search function works weird sometimes

I really think they don't work, a plain surface has less air resistance than that thing that looks like a broken dust pan and if it was that good I think truck manufacturers would have put it on their trucks to brag about their fuel efficiency. Those are my 2cents on the topic.

Because of weight distribution my 5th wheel sits further back. This creates a large space between back of cab and trailer. I installed them on my midroof 2011 Volvo. I did seem .2-.3 improvement. Probably would have seen more but the guy who installed them (I didn't have access to a tall ladder) said he knew what he was doing but installed them backwards!!

They were test by, and received an award from, NASA. They do work. This I can assure you from personal experience.

What was Your experience?Better mileage, wind stabilization?

When I owned my own truck I installed a tool box on the catwalk behind the sleeper. I had too slide the fifth-wheel back for trailer swing clearance. Thus increasing the gap between truck/trailer.
Before I did this I had a consistent 6.5mgp. Afterwards it dropped to under 6mpg. I let this go on for five months then decided to give the AIRTABS a try. I figured at the cost of $250 I had nothing to lose.
I had an '07 International 9400i with the full 72" sleeper. I installed them only on the sides of the sleeper since I didn't have a tall enough ladder to reach the top. Also, a week before installing AIRTABS I installed a new muffler. After the installation of both my fuel mileage went up drastically. The average mpg for the full year after installing both was 6.99mpg.
How much increase in mpg could be attributed to either device I have no way to know. However, I will say this, even if the AIRTABS only increased mpg by one tenth of a gallon they paid for themselves.
As to their ability to stabilize the truck & trailer....YES! This feature alone will make AIRTABS a good investment. No longer did I fight to keep the truck straight while driving in windy conditions. I could still feel the buffering affect of the wind with a van trailer in tow, but I no longer fought to keep it in my lane.
So to conclude, is AIRTABS worth the investment? Without a doubt YES!
In fact, I have petitioned my current employer to install them. I'm not an AIRTAB salesman. I have nothing to gain financially. I just believe in the product. Simple, cheap, & effective, what more could you ask for from a product. -
How about pulling a flatbed?
