2 years experience, never take home time, would like a truck with an APU (but will live w/o), must have a year round rider program, my girlfriend lives on the truck with me, we tried the teaming thing for a year and got tired of not having anytime together, could "super solo" (run up to 800 to 900 miles a day), and would like a decent sized truck. And of course miles, miles, miles.
We do not care what state it is based out, prefer van or reefer...
Any help would be appreciated!
Need a compay to call home--advice please

onthehunt Thanks this. -
In case you didn't notice, the OP is not asking about teaming.
He wants a company that allows a year-round passenger.
My company, Swift, does not allow a rider during winter months.
Not sure if there is some workaround to that, never inquired. But, it is worth looking in to.
Never hurts to ask.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Try ATS out of St Cloud MN, they have a good van division. Have a lot of Volvos and freightliners. Day one rider program.

Where is home? I keep a good company "quiet" for experienced drivers but for those who live in a good area I will share.

You want 800 - 900 miles per day?
11 hours times 70 MPH = 770 miles.
Keep dreaming. -
I think he was implying that his g/f has a CDL too, and while they do not want to be a "team" operation where they'd be running non-stop, if the company would allow it, she could share some of the drive time to extend the work day by a few hours if/when needed....but under normal circumstances, a 14 hour day would be all the truck would work.hunts2much Thanks this.

That was about how I read it. Though I'm sure there are some of us who may have tickled 800+ miles in a day, everyone is aware it wasn't via HOS compliance.

Depends upon where you are running and whether or not your truck is capable of keeping up. Get out west into the 75 mph states...and you only have to average 73 mph to go 800 miles in 11 hours. Heck, some states are pushing 80-85 mph speed limits...only increases the distance you can run in a day IF your truck can do it. 82 mph is 900 miles in 11 hours.
