You running a hopper bottom or an end dump??? I hated running dump in the winter. Used to haul salt from the Port of IN to the DOT sheds all over IN. You wouldn't think road salt would freeze but it does. Nothing like having a 40' dump all the way up in the air with 15T of salt stuck in the nose and gusty winds :O

Wilson hopper bottom. Only problem I have is the roll tarp being froze after snow or sleet.

I can imagine an end dump with frozen product could get a little tricky.

I used to haul out of the port too. Nothing like driving a tri-axle all the way to Chicago and back everyday for two weeks, then to all the DOT sheds forever after.

Dodging the scales was always the fun part, as the loader at the port had no idea how to gauge if he was putting on 20T or 28T

One of our hoppers is that same set up.

During harvest we will ocassionally spot a trailer in the field and let the farmer fill it with the combine. We give very specific instructions on loading it but sometimes the scale ticket can get a little scary.
