I just started with Crete and I am on paper logs. Many drivers here have been here a very long time. I have heard less complaining here than any other trucking company lounge. So far it has not been bad for me. I do have to do a sleep study for sleep apnea though. Thats the only thing I'm not looking forward to.
Is Knight to Crete a lateral move?

Progress Report. Trailer conditions and availability are a Huge upgrade with Crete. Average Length of Haul is 50% greater at Crete. Detention pay and extra pay was much better at Knight. Wait time to get tractor repairs is horrendous at Crete. Some terminal shops stay days behind. Central Dispatch at Crete is better or atleast seems fairer than Knight's highly corruptible terminal dispatch system. I am on pace to make approx 10% income increase with Crete. I average 11k paid miles per month at Crete. Did about the same at Knight. Crete pays a higher percentage of the miles that I run. Overall, Crete has been a moderate upgrade so far.

I drive through Winter Haven all the time and see so many local outfits around there and Bartow. There is so much construction down on 17 have you looked at any of those places? You have a good amount of experience so you can definitely pick up something in that area I'm sure. I see daycab TMC trucks down in that area all the time, have you tried giving them a shot??

Haven't noticed the TMC day cabs. Never really desired flatbed work. I spent most of my life up on roofs and my joints are shot. Of course being OTR, can't keep up too much with what goes on around here. Generally speaking tho, most things Florida don't pay well. Florida has always been a lower-wage state and trucking companies know it.

I hear you man, I'm currently looking for something else myself. I'm local right now but they know that being a newbie in FL you are going to work for sweatshop wages. Good luck out there, keep us posted.
