are they calling on your 10 hr break or are you taking time during the run to shower and eat???
if it's on the break, screw 'em. on duty time, get your ### in gear and deliver the load.
now I have had some brokers that call 5 times a day, no lie, and I just don't answer the phone. put it on mute.
Don't work for Chizek

Hey Runningman , there's nothing "NEW BREED" about this drivers description of Chizek Transport . They are truely a rotten to the core company ! Oh and by the way with 12 years expierience, YOU are a " NEW BREED " driver!

He was not talking about the OP's post but was referring to the post he quoted.
Any hoo, I wanted to tell companies many times to get stuffed when they sent me MI,s but I just hate del loads late. Don't see a problem with forced DP. You have 70hrs in 8 days. If you get forced onto a load without the hrs you just send a ETA, run your hrs and shut down. Whats the issue?
Now why some drivers do not savy the forced DP is because they want to run a certain area like south of I-20 in the winter. West of the NE corridor etc. Then you got the people that will litterly wreck you trying to get off the road and get parked before the sun goes down. Forced DP does not work well when your driving scd is 0730 till 1630 4 mos out of the year. Then you got the ones who are trucking to site see for free or have another income other then trucking and don't need to average 500 miles a day to make it. They really have no need to be forced to do more then what they need to do. And lastly you have the hobo's on wheels who have no home and just live out of their truck and will run till they get enough for a few hands of poker and a bucket of chicken. -
Don't you get paid for the miles that are on the order? They call them practical miles (Fastest Route).

Are you still there?

Just my 2 cents here on this company.
First off, when you read what someone writes, it's never as good as talking in person. I met a driver for this company. Talking to this driver one on one, as we both ate our meals, I found no reason to think he was a screw-ball, or idot, or anything else bad. Just seemed to be a very down-to-Earth guy. He told me one story after another about the company not paying him for loads he had done, and even telling him he had to pay out of his own pocket for a road service call. If even half of what he said was true, these people would be ones to stay away from.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 10, 2014

Amazing how a driver can have more than ONE of these stories with the same employer>I guess they enjoy being sodomized.

If a company is really screwing you on pay for loads, and treating a driver with complete disrespect(like hanging up the phone, or screaming/cursing/yelling at a driver on the phone or when he or she is at the office), i can see....but is the lack of pay because of paperwork not sent or mailed in on time? Is the driver the first one to start cussing out dispatch when they call or answer the phone? I've worked at a couple of companies where they had the honor system as far as paying drivers for loads whether paperwork was in or not, but had to change to not paying until they had paperwork transflo'd in or received in the mail because they had gotten fed up with trying to get those papers in so they could bill the shipper.

Thanks for this posting. They have called me about coming to work there.

Well said and when you leave he keeps your last checks! Of course he keeps most of them anyway over $200.00. Sure would like to see his tax return, would bet he cheats on that too!
