clutch fan leaking air

    clutch fan leaking air . Can I just pinch line off to eliminate air loss. fan is going to run anyway it would seem . Any problems doing this ? temporary solution till it gets to shop. Dont want the bogey man to hear it ..lol

    Should be able to pinch it off, yes, but watch the temps and get her shut down if it starts climbing. Good luck.

    If this is an air release type, all you need to do is unplug the fan solenoid.

    Which would be located where on a 2009 prostar. 400 isx engine

    Should be under the air cleaner housing closer to the engine. Two wire plug. Some have the normal round solenoid shaped type, and others are black rectangular shaped. (with air lines too, of course!)

    Air cleaner have to be removed to have access to plug ? Fan will run steady correct ?

    You should be able to reach under it, you might have to hunt a bit for it, but the air cleaner shouldn't have to come off. Yes, the fan will run steady.
