Called on a posted load just a minute ago. Soybeans; 280 loaded miles, 30 cents, 950 bushel, $1.02 p/mile. WOW!

Well, it's not me, I'm still just driving. It's the boss and his son own the place. The son is the mechanic, used to be a mechanic for Ruan, and the boss used to be a painter for GM years ago. They're putting a clutch and rear main seal in mine now.

Those guys can tear a truck completely apart and put it all back together right. They could open a diesel shop and make good money if they wanted.

They've also got a deal with a certain broker/company and we do all the hauling through them. Runs year round with the busy season in the winter keeping all the feed mills running. So that deal out of Catoosa and Inola isn't through the lowballers at ADM. Not that we're making money hand over fist, but I don't think anyone is.

Yeah, these guys can do it right. I think they ran mine up to 700k before the rebuild and it's at 880k now, still running strong. I gotta take part of that back though, now that I think about it. They buy used drive tires for the hopper trucks, non recap, new recaps for the trailers, but only goodyear/michilin, used tires for the end dump trailers since those always get torn up before they wear out, and new steers for all of them. They don't take the risk with the steer tires.

They run regional here so worst case for them is a truck broke down a couple hundred miles out. They'll get the parts together and come fix it where it sits. If it's something minor, we fix it and limp it in. I blew a radiator hose on mine and had to replace it in the dark, then wait for another driver to bring me coolant. It was cold and dark, but they paid me for doing it so it's all good. I've been thinking one of those tow units that attaches to the fifth wheel on a bobtail would be a good investment for them but we haven't talked about it yet.

Trying to depress me? I thought 1.20 was bad you beat me.

Nope, don't think anyone is getting filthy rich that's for sure.

Hasn't even started here yet. Radar said it was snowing pretty good earlier but it wasn't making it to the ground.
