Has anyone worked with these guys and do they run DAC? I only heard of temp drivers once before and I don't know what company it was. I thought temp places were for office jobs and labor things. Do they pay W2 or 1099? I won't leave the house for a 1099.

If they pay 1099 more than likely the increase is factored into the per hour rate that they pay - why would you not leave the house for a 1099? Just take 25% of what they give you and set it aside for tax time. If you were paid $25 an hour on 40 hours = $1000 and take out 25%
( ballpark ) for taxes. Means that in W-2 terms your take home would be $750 or $18.75 an hour. If they financially make up the difference then I do not see why one would sit home IMO.

Most driver temp agencies pay W2. Havent been with one that paid 1099 (been with 3). Dont worry about the DAC thing either. MVR is all they worry about for their insurance reasons. All the ones Ive been with will keep u very busy. Thru temp agencies Ive driven for Averrit (4 different accounts), First Fleet, Ryder, Penske, Ruan, Dodge/Jeep, TLD, just to name a few. Lots of yard jockey work too with many many different companies. If someone wants to keep u, U get to choose yes or no. U get to get a feeling for the company if u like them or not. Be safe out there driver.

Good deal thanks. Yeah I just can't go back OTR because I have a good woman and I want to keep her. I just saw these guys and was trying to get some info. The good thing is I don't need big OTR no life pay, I just need some money.

I'm not an indentured servant and a 1099 is just used by all these fly by night companies as a work around (FedEx) to destroy what abysmal rights the working man has left.

I wasn't advocating for paying 1099 - I was just saying if it was between no work and a little bit of 1099 work to make a little money I would choose to do the work. In my business I have always paid drivers with a W2 and paid my fair share of the taxes. As a company owner I set up an employee on W2 only to have him come back and beg me to not take taxes out for the next two paychecks and give him a 1099 for those weeks so he could get caught up on his brand new personal truck payment of $800 / month. I am not going to pay someone a W2 and a 1099 just so I can create more accounting work for my self b/c someone can't manage there money.

I worked for Volt in San Diego in the late '80,s and ended up with probably the best job I've ever had. Was sent to a compnay (local) to cover a vacation guy and ended up getting hired on permanently. Stayed there 10 yrs. Volt, at that time, did any kind of temp jobs. Not sure what they do now or if they are still in business.
