Well I finished my first week in training so far everything great .....
-
been to all the dc's ran team ran solo as far as question for the new part time guy you let dot know when your available and they dispatch you to that if your wanting to run alot why not go full time I have had ups and downs at dot like any trucking company if you want to make good money here throw groceries thats the money maker you will earn your money its tough some customers are harder than others some are cake some are a ##### and you will be tired as a mofo when ur done company as a whole is ok would recommend it for new drivers out of school to get your feet wet and can still make a good buck lumping until you get some expierence then you can make the same or more becoming a true driver dots mileage pay is lower than average they do pay people net miles I have had a few trucks since i been there the shop in mtsterling seems the guys would rather watch you tube then fix anything theres a couple mechanics that are good overall there lazy and run when u come in, warehouse can't ever load your truck right which will never get better due to high turnover. Dot likes to spend alot of money on entertainment and parties instead of putting it in your check my opinion they also like to spend money on there private jets and mainly the office people are really overall more important than any driver unless maybe the driver trainers which are considered a extension to management I'm just giving you my opinion on this take as you want feel free to ask any questions I am willing to answer any of them.. Like i said Good Luck with DOt and strenthen your back u will Need IT...

Jeez someone is feed mre the b.s.... I didnt thimk 31cpm was a lower than average wage starting out fresh out the door as a guy outta school and multiple bonuses every year for really doing nothing more than what you should be doing mn seem dot is a bad company according to jhavens....im guessing all i have mentioned is bad geez i need to go to swift and make 25cpm to be a real driver? ###### THAT! Anyone who dosent have a case of rectal cranial inversion will tell you dot is a #### good company so what ya throw groceries you dont end up a 300 pound gear grindin monkey that way at least geez get with the program dude
-
LOl dude .31 cpm is terrible!!!! how can anyone say that isn't below average. At 6 months of experience you should be making .41 if not more. At Maverick, a 6 month driver will make .47 cpm doing flat bed. So a company paying .31 to an experienced driver is insulting.
-
.31 is not great, but, i dont know any forty centers at six months fresh out of school... im new otr 4 months, hitting .34. Next check and check around thats not bad. Something to consider, out 14, may be sitting in a. Truckstop waiting for a load, id be more concerned with the miles to a certain degree, to sum up my rant... im trying to get into dot, im working for a good company but otr is otr, getting good miles but busting my ### for less than 50k which i hear is low at dot, and you get home. This is not meant to insult anyone just my take on it.
-
chris u will not start at dot for 31 cents genious its 28cents get ur facts straight the highest u will ever make at dot is 37 after 3 yrs and yeah california must be a piece of cake come play in chicago see how u like throwing those groceries ol buddy can't wait to meet ya
-
Yes BDT you are right. 50k is low at dot. but you will bust your ### for it on the docks and in your trailer. 6 months out of school will get you .41 cents a mile. Look at Maverick and Crete. No need to settle for low mileage pay. Dot foods does not pay well for your driving. They pay you to be a Lumper (that happens to drive). And if you compare the lumping pay you receive, it is far lower then what the actual lumpers make at the docks you deliver. This is a fact. But the pay is good at DOT (if you can withstand the large and painful breakdowns of freight).
-
rectal cranial inversion i like that one, they are a good company but someday maybe you will see through the smoke maybe u wont but im glad you like it they need more drivers just like you and im happy for you chris i hope u make a career out of dot its just not for everyone regardless if it does require throwing groceries I personally don't have a issue with the job I know that there are better paying jobs for doing less work and putting your truck in much less danger maybe you guys in cali have great docks to goto maybe u dont anyway I have my opinion and thats what it is and you have yours and my opinion of you is a real moron with a 1st grade mental aptitude thank god your in cali with ur husband
