I live in the Socal area and was wondering if Prime has a drop yard in the LA area. I am heading to prime and was hoping that there are some secured places to park my truck and my own private Automoble.
thanks

We have dropyard privileges in Fontana... unfortunately it's not our facility. They don't allow us to park tractors or personal vehicles there.
-
Yeah, that what I was figuring.. Any recommendations beside looking in CL for places?
-
Are you going to maintain a "home" in the LA area? Park your car their. They allow you to bobtail the tractor home... or to a secure location after dropping the trailer.
I'm not sure about other dropyard locations in Socal, but we do have a sales office in Oxnard. It's not really a secured parking area, and I really can't speak to whether they'd allow you to park a car there... but it is a possibility.Last edited: Feb 22, 2013

What about the cattle lot in Ontario, CA? are we still using that yard?
-
My trainer lived in long beach and he dropped his trailer off at a knight yard kind of near la when he went home. FedEx let me park my truck at lax for a couple days once, I was picking up a load out of there though.

The Knight yard is the one in Fontana... I don't believe we're using the cattle pen any longer.
-
Yes we still use the cattle yard in Ontario. Also the yard off Cherry and I10. Guy was dropping his empty for hometime at the Colton WMDC produce lot the other night.
cattle yard has a sign that they charge for overnight, I've never been charged but I've never been there longer than 8 and always on prime business. -
Oh yeah I've been by that cattle yard a few times, and that 'do it yourself' trlr wash across the street. That lot was always full w/ double parked trlrs, pot holes... had to lock axle just to get around the lot. Don't miss that place.

IronPony.....I live in Oxnard, do you know where that Prime Sales office is? I did a google on it and I only get some Prime Printing Sales...not the trucking co. Thanks! That would be great if they had a local parking lot at least that I could park at.
I was wondering about this. I see local truckers parking their entire bobtail and trailer on the street just adjacent to my road. I guess it's legal. There's no red no parking zone there. It just takes up quite a bit of room. It's in a small industrial area, very little traffic at night.
