2007 freightliner century 14L

what gauge reading? newer truck run at higher temperatures, over 90 dgr C, so if it is not hot outdoors - no fan on

 

Well I dont know for sure or not but I would guess it is probably a bad solenoid. As cheap as a solenoid is, it wouldnt hurt to try it.

 

Also, I have a Century as well, when I used to wash the engine with my pressure washer (engine is cool) every time I would leave after washing it the fan would stay engaged. Well, I got concerned and parked the truck and bought a fan solenoid. Installed the new fan solenoid, still the fan stayed on. So I decided to leave and get on the road, my fan stayed engaged for 3 hours before it cut out. Everytime I washed the truck at the house when the engine was cool it did this. After about 3 or 4 hours of driving it would cut off. Just throwing that out there not just for you but anyone that might have a similar issue.

Give us a little history, did you do something to the truck, have it worked on then it messed up? How did it stop working? This is a Detroit correct?

 

I am confused you said the "tempature was reading 210 and the fan was engaged," was it not cooling off? My trucks fan cuts on at about 205ish and usually never gets over 210 usless pulling a hill in the dead summer.
