    It's not driving.

    It's not backing.

    It's not DOT.

    It's not sanitation.

It's not living on a truck for weeks with a stranger.

It's not even dealing with idiot drivers.

It's trying to sort out all these companies before you even get your permit!!:biggrin_25511: I think I'm getting a headache.

Well if your just getting your permit then nothing on that list applies to you. Let us know after a few months out there.

Exactly. If you are applying to a starter company pick the one that's closest to your house and who's color of truck you like most. There is not much difference between them.

Well, you obviously haven't read any of my other posts.
I already drive with a CDL, just not with a class "A", so that list does apply to me.

If you're a woman, it will be looking in that mirror one morning and wondering where all those wrinkles came from and why all those friends back home look 15 years younger. I'm not a woman, but I am observant.

It's not sleeping. Oh, and receivers who bang on your door as hard as they can to wake you up when your head is only three feet away. That's the worst.

Driving a straight truck is a cake walk compared to a big rig.

A lot of people on here advise not to go with a big company, go with a small company.

Also, I have an accident on my record from 2010. This adds to my "headache".

I have a school picked out, and I hope to start with them in mid June. Just trying to line up a couple companies that will consider me before I put the money out for school.

It seems like most companies are in central U.S. or west & south of me.

I'm still trying to sort this out.

Look on Craigslist for small companies. Newark NJ is a trucking hot spot. You should have no issue finding a job.
