I want to hear from anyone who's got the good and the bad on Western Express's flatbed division? How do they treat the driver's on every aspect from pay to home time and dispatch. Is this a worth while company to work for or is it another user/abuser? Please share your thoughts my fellow road warriors. Thanks a bunch!
Wondering about Western Express flatbed division? What's the 411?

the drivers I have talked to seem to be happy.

I've also heard the flatbed drivers are happy but also have heard their pay is on the lower side. I used to pick up from a place where there are always western drivers(van) picking up as well. And from their standpoint i would say they are unhappy. Always complain about the pay and always ask everyone else who they work for and what it pays. Sorry i dont have much info but i also am curious about their flatbed division. Wondering if they can get you home every weekend.

you need to remember that most drivers out here think they should make huge amounts of money for little work,,or what they can do right.

That doesnt sound terrible paywise if its true. The thing that concerns me most is the bad safety rating that comes with this company. I know for a fact its one of the worst not rumor. I also know with these mega carriers some are very different from their general freight divisions to their specialized divisions. Which can be a plus. Sublime i live i live in upstate ny along the thruway so im looking for something similar.

I appreciate that. And i agree, the policy of sittin back and just saying "glad im not that guy" doesnt sit with me, we're all human and not perfect. I get stuck in some pretty nasty situations at the stores we unload and theres almost always someone there that is willing to help out a bit if they can.
