ahhh park n view... one of my mistakes back in my OTR days...
ohhh and lets not forget irridium phones! I wrapped up a grand in that ####### - and they went out of biz about 2 months into my service.
(cool idea - just a bit ahead of its time)
my complaint with idle air is that a lot of truckstops allowed idle air to use space that previously had been used by those of us with doubles to pull through for lunch/dinner etc etc...
many of my old haunts do not nget my biz anymore because there is now an idle air rack where I used to park.

The only way I would have respected IdleAire is if they would have come in, bought land NEXT to or BEHIND a truck stop and built up there. Not take the already lack of parking from a truck stop.trucker43 Thanks this. -
if that was to hapen we would be paying the mortgage on that "land"
ummm lets see in cincy commercial c-3 land / light industrial - no epa stops... ummm about 900K per acre undeveloped
1.2 mil an acre with utils. and road access...
*ouch*
idle air would cost guys about 20$ an hour... hehhehehe -

ok... you qouted me -
then restate what we had all ready established...
I was posting to add to gazoo's thought of them buying land adjoining truckstops
\
then weighed the cost per acre vs. their rates. -
I guess the way to reclaim the parking spaces is to hook up to their WiFi service only ( I payed $120/year for mine) and if they try to boot you out of the spot then you can say you are a paying customer and you will want your money back befor you leave. Of course you will need to respect their idling rules...

well my point is that I recognize it is uncouth to park in the fuel lanes for any length of time - but they are whittling down my options...
cant back in them long johns you know.... -
What amazes me is that in the NE states where truckers are hated and blamed for everything from global warming simply for wanting to be comfortable in their trucks at night while taking the rest prescribed to them by the government there are few idelaire spaces where they are needed most....and in other areas where they are not currently really needed they take up spaces...especially in the TA's....
trucker43 Thanks this. -
