What is the cheapest out of pocket money company sponsored school out there? Millis and Roehl was one of my top choices to choose from, but after doing some math, it will take me almost $900-$1000 out-of-pocket money to attend these schools. Now, i'm thinking more towards Prime or Swift, maybe even Stevens because the out-of-pocket money you are required to spend is much less. Is there another school like this i should consider? Thank you.

I think Prime is best for out-of-pocket expenses.
Central Refrigerated and Stevens Transport are good.
Check all 3 websites and compare.

Cheapest will always be a local community college if you qualify. Almost all states have WIC or some type program to get you trained and working. And you don't owe any of these rat outfits anything or any time. O Sambo is handing out money like a drunken sailor. Go get some.

NEVER choose the cheapest school. Around here, schools are farm teams for local trucking companies (including the big ones.) Look around and find out what companies you want to work for. That means interviewing them over the phone. Don't worry, they won't mind. Then ask them what schools THEY prefer.

I'd always choose a school who is PDTI certifed. (http://www.ptdi.org)

The whole point of this isn't to get a licence, it's to become a well-trained professional who can get a good first job, and then whatever job he pleases a few years down the the road. Trust me, you'll earn back your money within the first year. That good first job is critical in terms of your career.

The Duker is spot on, look into community colleges. A ton of them have grant programs where if you prequalify with a company you can get a grant to go to school for free. Do it
