me personally im not a big fan of monkey made's, but that antenna and coax will work as long as you get your swr's @ 1.5 or lower, but that is with any antenna, you can have a great radio, antenna and coax but if it isnt set for lowest swr's it aint worth a crap.

I've always heard General Lee's were great talkers. What type of truck?

Great radio i have a general washington same radio with a different flag on the front. They are great radios its basically a connex 3300 wit a few extra bells and whistles. Id try to stay away from factory coax and get a good antenna too. Also, stick with the power cord supplied, from what i remember its an 8 or 12 gauge and has a 10amp inline fuse unlike cb radios.

I like my General Lee. I just ordered a new face
plate for it. Going to look like new. -
I posted on here somewhere the other day that if I was ordering a new radio for the truck, it would most likely be a Gen. Lee. I also use a 5ft Skip Shooter bought from Ray in W. Memphis....(across the street from McDonald's, not the Channel 5 CB Shop). I also use the 5x5 Francis, and a Wilson 2000. I can't tell any difference in any of them. If you get it all matched up right they all work good if they're in the 5ft long + range.

+1 on the good antenna and coax. However, LMR240 is way overkill; nearly 3x the price for a nearly unmeasurable difference on the CB frequencies for any length you are likely to need in a truck.

This is good 98% braid, made in USA coax, This and a Wilson 2000 with a 10 inch shaft would work very well.
I have tried all kinds of antennas and have found the Wilson just works good and easy to tune.
The open coil antennas are not much better for the price.
