Loitering at Waffel House

I can't do the Waffle House. I hope they do well and remain the roadside icon that many have become accustomed to. The food slides around on the plate in a puddle of oil and makes me gag. My friend told me, one meal too late, "Everyone knows you don't eat at the Waffle House!" Of course my other friend, wondered why I didn't take him with me.

 

No ####? Cool deal. I was parked next to the Cat scale. I love that place. Not many places you can stop on 81 at 9pm and find a pull through spot.

 

I love the Waffle House and Huddle House

Lee Hi used to be the place for all the outlaws to gather Pack Rat, I lived in Winchester and ran 81 all the time.

 

It is certainly a neat little hidey hole. I got there around 4pm and the place was almost completely deserted. Left this morning at 7 to make my 9am appointment at the WMDC in Mt. Crawford, VA.

 

I stopped there all the time when I drove for Stevens Transport in 1998-2000. I'm glad becoming a TA hasn't destroyed it, aside from the signs, its pretty much how I remembered it.

 

We left roughly at the same time then. I rolled out of there about 7:20 (5:20 my time). I'm in Carneys Point right now at the J. Delivering up the road in Swedesboro tomorrow. I'm surprised at how quiet this place is considering how close it is to Philadelphia.

 

You might have passed me; I slowed down to 50 when I hit the fog and 1/4 mile visibility.

 

I'm suprised there wasn't an accident with all those 4 wheelers trying to do 80 in that soup.

 

Oh and to ad to the Waffle House, just get a nice big greasy meal before going to sleep, just make sure you keep your clothes on and have running shoes handy.

Pray to who ever you want all the stalls are not full. LOL

 

I think you guys are mixed up. Sounds more like you were at the Awffle House than the Waffle House!

(Actually I have no business making ANY comment on this thread, as I am totally unfamiliar with that chain. But then, that never stops me. . .)
