Running 3000+ miles per week hauling swinging meat and never leaving the state of TX, and still be home on the weekend. Pouring a cup of kerosene in my dads tanks to keep fuel from becoming jello and having to go under the truck at the top of every pass to adjust the slack-adjusters. Most of all...I remember giving the respect to all those before us every single day. Giving and getting the respect every driver earned with all the hard work they had to endure. The pride that was put into this industry by every driver on the road. Hats off to all those before me and those who actually take PRIDE in what we do today. Be safe out there drivers.

 

I remember wondering if big trucks had air conditioning because I always saw them driving with the window down and elbow out, lol.

How about water cooled brakes. We had them on the log trucks. Big ole water tank behind the headache rack...
