Nah they r just the WORST receiver at the moment--there WILL b others--LOL
Welcome to truckin in the 21st century!
-
Ya i know there are others but we run regional so it's big waste of time for us to get stuck with receiver like these so i try to add to small list who to avoid next time, before i'm taking a load or what to expect or ask more money upfront. Try to do whatever is in our control.'olhand Thanks this.

US Foods in Livermore is an absolute suck hole. Occasionally, we have to send our guys in there, but it's a cryin' shame. I am shocked you didn't mention the worst part of it all.... I'll guess the unloading ran your about $32.00, they would not allow you to unload it, and if it was over 4 boxes high, the driver has to break it down for them...
I knew someone there that was a "higher up" and when we complained to him for our guys, he said something about lumpers not being able to work too long (years) because their job was labor intensive. Not verbatim, but something close. What a joke....NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Starting 45 minutes after appointment, $500 charged to the trucking company for every hour the truck is late would work as well?
-
wow....touched a nerve there with you huh? you must work in a warehouse....one of the guilty warehouses.
Read the post that you quoted again....it says $500 per hour AFTER the first TWO hours.
Now, I don't work in a warehouse, so I don't know all the little nuances of why a truck could be left sitting for 4-5-6+ hours.....However, in a facility designed for receiving freight, that shouldn't happen. Being out on the road though, there are plenty of things that could cause a load to be 45 minutes late. Unforeseen traffic/accidents, breakdowns, etc. I know I know....plan better, etc.... but you cannot plan for EVERYTHING that may happen, and at some point you just have to do your best and hope it works out. If you sit down and try to plan for absolutely everything, I am not sure any freight would end up delivered at all. -
Haha no I just thought I'd open discussion when it happens the other way. Having a truck wait more than 2 hours is extremely rare where I work. Only accreption would be a major line breakdown on the production side causing outbound truck to wait. Just thougt the one way convo going on needed an oppo point of view. Amount of trucks showing up days late, let alone hours late is way more common than trucks waiting hours.

Communication between driver-dispatcher-Customer is always a good idea

Thank you then, for being part of a facility that has their act together. -
I worked at a BIG produce house when I was in college as the quality control supervisor. They would start receiving at 3 am. At times trucks would wait hours to unload and that was because they were out of dock space staging orders that they were loading their trucks to go out on deliveries; and that was their first priority (THEIR customers...not the drivers). Now, if a truck has product that they really needed for orders that morning, they were treated as the Messiah--in and out. It's truly a shame because nobody really gives a F about the drivers all they care about is their bottom line.
If a house is big enough to have 10 or more doors, the house should be big enough to get trucks out #### near immediately.
US Foods in Livermore charges so much per pallet to unload the drivers are probably doing it themselves (my drivers do and pocket the unloading cash) but then US Foods Livermore also makes drivers break down the orders. For instance, a pallet of 50 potatoes cannot be more than 4 tiers high...and they make the drivers stack it off...But then again, USF is probably the worst place we go.
JeffVisionLogistics Thanks this.
