I drive days and my husband drives nights. I know many other teams where the wife does the night driving. Many of them do 12 hour shifts. Some 6-6 or Noon - Midnight and I know another team that does 2-2. Before trucking I worked days and my husband has always been a night owl so what we do is what works for us. Every team is different and you just have to figure out which works best for you.

24/7/365. . . Man that's love!
I'd need to get my burial plot paid for first, she's a good shot! -
I tend to stay awake better than my husband when it's dark outside... So I driver the night shift... However, if I get tired, I'm not shy about stopping for an hours nap!!
-
My wife and I started out doing 3 to 3, Me doing night and her morning but it gradually has slipped more into 6 to 6 with me staying the nights. She can't stay awake all night as I can, and is afraid of the truckstops in the middle of the night.

Are you on paper logs, or elogs... Just wondering how you work the 3/3 or 6/6 and log it...
-
What do you mean, how do they log it? You log it the same as everyone else. How do you log hours?
-
Elogs. Since we keep regular shifts, unless you have a really good day you never run your full 11 before you switch, we still manage to run out of hours and take regular resets
-
Always wondered how that worked. Thanks!
-
If you run 3/3 where is your 10 hour off duty to reset your 14? Same with a 6/6? We have tried a running 8/3 each doing a split sleeper. That was a pain to keep track of!! I sure wish they would allow teams a 5/5... But that was a few years back, and I wasn't driving then

Now there is always the physical driving vs. the driver of record... But lord help you if anything happens and you're NOT the driver of record!!
