I just tie rope to the wheel run it thru the windwings so I can steer from the sleeper, I dont want to violate the sleeper rules when driving during my break.

i just heard that WA is giving out $375 fines for them

They guys with the 'neckers knobs' and the fingerless gloves, driving a modern truck with powersteering crack me up.
I don't think they'd last a few minutes in a 70's era truck with 'armstrong' steering. At least you learned how to back up in those days, or pass out trying. -
there was one on the tow truck i started driving with i loved it on that but in a semi its not really needed and my company wont allow them anyways plus i also had elbow trouble when i drove that tow truck too.dont have the issue anymore with my elbow hurting

Its amazing how the appearance of truck drivers has changed sine the 60's, 70's, & 80's.
A truck driving friend of mine got a speeding ticket on a two lane highway close to my home town for going 68 in a 55 MPG speed zone. After getting this ticket & about 5 miles down the highway the state trooper pulled him over once again giving him another speeding ticket for going 69 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone. He was talking about how sorry the trooper was. I told him your free to wear those faded jeans with holes in them, the long hair with a pony tail, the Harley Davidson belt, the Harley Davidson t-shirt, the blue jean jacket with the sleeve cut out, the wording you have on back of that blue jean jacket, yet your must remember, dressing this way will make those in authority automatically pick on you, & probably give you a hard time. I went on & told him at the number of drivers that I've seen dress in that manner given a very difficult time in the weight stations between here & California as well as by state troopers.
He said, "That's not right." I agreed saying, "Yes, but that is the way it is, & you now know clearly what your up against, its your choice." He did not change.
About one week later he got another speeding ticket on the same highway by the same state trooper, that gave him 3 speeding tickets in 3 years, which was the limit set by the trucking company, & he lost his job saying, "That's not right."
