downfalls for me i guess. Wont let me take the truck home. so i have to drive 2+ hours to get home, paper logs, reefers, Walmart, and Tyson. Other then that I like them, they keep me running, 2500+ miles a week, get 10k miles in a month and you get +2 cent for every mile you ran that month. 2013 tractor and APU. I always have a Pre-Planned loads

I like elogs, but i wouldnt mind going back to paper...as long as the company didnt watch it like a hawk. I don't need a lot of leash, but just a little and i can be super productive on paper.

For the new ones (esp the ones that went through Driver Solutions), how many miles are you averaging weekly?

Here's an update on my first couple of weeks as a P.A.M. driver.
After passing the road/backing test once off my trainers truck, I drove out to El Paso from Irving with a chaser to get my tractor, an 09 Freightliner with an automatic. Not crazy about the auto but I hear they are phasing them all out. I took a load back to the Dallas area, then got a load to Waco that basically had 2 full days to get there, <sigh> and couldn't be delivered early. Once empty I sent a message asking if I was good to head to the house, as I had sent a request for hometime the day I got my truck, so that I could take care of some biz. No answer. I pointed my truck toward the house and a load assignment came in telling me to get a load and take it to Illinois. My DM's response when I called was, "so you haven't been home yet?" He was nice enough to take me off the load and let me get home.
So LSS I got home, took care of my stuff, and got back on the truck. This is where it gets good. I've been outsourced to Wal-Mart for the past week and will be pulling WM trailers this week too. P.A.M. probably wouldn't like me disclosing the particulars but I will say I'm getting paid more than I would have otherwise been able to make pulling regular mileage loads. This has been an absolute godsend for me since I am just starting and making peanuts for mileage pay. This way I'm able to knock down a couple of (relatively) nice paychecks and get over those training-pay-blues.
I may be singing a different tune in a couple of weeks but for now I'm pretty content. -
