you will get 15 bucks for drop n hooks and transfers u will get home on the weekends which u will enjoy have u ever thought about flat bedding or local ltl which is usually hourly and great benefits dot is a decent company but like anything else if the shoe fits wear it.. It doesn't fit every driver and when it doesn't that does not make the driver that didn't like something a bad person once again my opinion they also do have very good bennys

I trained for flatbed, but freight was light so i did my otr training in van, i have been looking for more local time driving is usually the issue. I was rejected by dot they told me reapply in 6 mo. Im clean but new driver coming from a cushy sales career, maybe they thought i couldnt take it..... ha ha. They did say they had me in mind for a position they might create though so i figure im have a shot.

Yes sir, Im a Dot driver. And if your trying to get home, then you will be happy at Dot, you will be home every weekend for at least 34 hours. I find myself sometimes spending that 34 hours in bed recovering from the freight. LOL but it is nice to be in your own bed once a week. Good luck sir.

Hmm seems i pissed off an inbred lol and if you were a dot driver you would know thats the new starting wage in cali was just announced at the drivers meetings,. and as far as tight docks we deal with our fair share out here in cali in the bay and LA wish we had the room in our yard you guys have out there we have the smallest yard out of all the dcs with the highest production go figure must be cuz our drivers actually try instead of cry and as far as turnover most our guys here have been here at least 2-20+ years and cali pays more read the employee handbook dude. after 6 months we go to 33cpm and it keeps going up the longer you work for em. anyway im not going to be a lil baby and keep ranting with an individual with a depreciated intellect soo have fun do us a favor and quit. everyone have a nice night

LOL, dude, I been to your yard in Cali. It is not the tightest. Chicago's Joliet is the tightest. But I admit your yard does suck. Cali does get a little more pay then the rest of the company. But I think the point made by that driver is the mileage pay is lower then the most of the trucking world. Dot's over all pay is better then most because of the freight throwing pay scale and variable (take away at any notice) bonuses. As far as that driver quitting, Im sure he will as so many others do almost every day. Many other companies do pay equal to Dot without the lumping. We just need to look. They ARE hiring. Thank goodness for us all there is a nationwide driver shortage that lets us not settle.
