Actually you can take a truck you lease thru SFI elsewhere. I have known of two guys that did while they still owed money to SFI. If you leased a used truck at the right deal you would be better off keeping it. Also on the choice board you should never be chasing miles.

I checked with the people at the shop in Charlotte and I was told they do pm's on ic trucks. Sounds like it would be cheaper than taking my truck to freightliner. Has anybody had any experience good or bad with sni maintenance?

It says on crossroads that they do, at least in charlotte, west memphis and dallas. I asked in charlotte and was told they do work on freightliners with detroit engines, be sure to call at least 3 days ahead. Having said all that I've come to the conclusion I'm better off taking my truck to freightliner, it might cost more but at least i know what to expect and they do what they say they'll do.

Case in point, I needed a steer tire and Schneider tells us we get discounts on stuff, including tires. So i was determined to take advantage of that discount and get that tire through Schneider. I jumped through some hoops, got a po#, got approval, got a wingfoot picked out (cant get it done at a terminal) and finally got my tire. Was told it would cost 495 + 30 for mounting and balancing. Sounds fair. Except when i looked at my settlement there was a list of charges totaling more than i wouldve paid if i had just gone to a petro on my own. So the hell with it. From now on i'm not asking for approvals and po's i'll just go where i want and get it done on my own. Which is probably what Schneider prefers anyway.

When i got my two steers , i did not have any problems. I money in my escrow account, called got a po#. I have a cat engine, so working on my truck will be a problem. I have 40 more days and i will be back in the states.
