    special thanks to everyone posting pics and sharing in this thread.
    brings back alot of memories (and makes me show my age)

    i will go dig for pics of the truckstops of the 60s 70s 80s
    i got lots of pictures somewhere

    and for those that did not know... 76 Truckstops
    most had a basement including full bar, dancefloor, stage
    alot had motel on the upper floors
    i worked at 2 of them in my youth and met many music stars on tour

    They sure did. As a matter of fact,my first use of a private shower was at the big orange ball.

    The one off exit 29 on I75 is just about gone still has a fuel island and the bar but other than that its all but close up and gone! Shame i like those little MA & Pa truck stops. I remeber when Sapp brothers was just a small simple TS and gave a dam about what they did seems even they have grown up and gotton more about get your fuel and get gone additute

    I misss the ol 76's to bad TA had to buy them n ruin the ma & pa truckstops

    Please tell me what ORANGE BALL HAD A BAR/DANCEHALL IN BASEMENT??? And remember neither stony ridge north or south were orange balls--so please enlighten me--thanx

    Actually it was the other way around. The people who bought the 76 Truckstops from Unocal bought the TA network after that and merged them together under the TA name.
