So much for a "life" sentence.
-
Who knows why she was released, she did express regret at what she had done, and I am willing to bet she is not figured to be dangerous anymore and releasing her will save the state some money. Probably far more people don't even remember her attempt at assassination, so there was little deterrence gained from keeping her imprisoned.
Ford has been gone about a year now. I drove I-70 through Vail, CO the night his death was announced, it was probably the prettiest part of that drive until I reached Utah and the mountains there the next day. I remember him far more than I remember those two women who tried to kill him so many years ago. Vail was where Ford went for recreation and seeing it at that time was a nice remembrance of him. He was the only President in my memory who was not elected either as President or Vice President. -
At least she served 32 years. That''s a lot more than most lifers actually serve now days. The guy who shot Pres Reagan, Hinckley gets weekend outings. And he hit and darn near killed him. Looks like he ought to have to do at least as much time as she did before getting any perks.

Life sentences in the US are longer than they are in any other democratic Country, including Canada, UK, France and Australia
-
Yeah but why call it a life sentence? why not call it "we'll let you out when were #### good and ready."
-
True. In Canada, she'd never have served that long and she probably ISN'T a risk to anyone. 32 years is a LONG time.
-
Yeah-and you got the Red Green show too. I'm moving north.
-
Because "we'll let you out when we're #### good and ready" takes too long to write out.
