I'm 9 months out of CDL school, and I'm happy with where I am compared to many company drivers that post here with a similar level of experience. I get what you're saying about the safety net, but I've lived most of my life without one. It's familiar territory. :)

We all need to get in the habit of post what we are pulling. Got an email from a guy telling me my rates are garbage, blah, blah, blah. Turns out he is pulling an RGN. When I learned that I thought his sub$3/mile rate was garbage.

You're right. I remembered to do it with my monthly post, but overlooked it on this one. Fixed.

In most cases, it's a gray area for sure.

Three loads this week: St. Louis to Delaware, run empty to Jersey City to drop my trailer and hook to a preload, then to Minneapolis, then reload there and haul 3000lbs of foam to Spokane. I was fortunate that the roads were clear and dry. Now the challenge is to get out of Spokane and make my way back to get my mt. :)
