Good god and I though I was getting raked across the coals. Not as furious now but they still don't have the final tally yet. The tech I spoke to asked if I wanted to do the clutch before they even pulled the tranny because he said there was going to be 13 hours labor in pulling the tranny to fix it. They're doing the kit so it's going to get an input shaft, clutch, some linkage, bushings, throwout bearing, etc I guess. They were doing the rear miain on mine when I showed up to look at the clutch and were supposed to drop the flywheel off before I got there. I'm PRAYING they didn't send it over to ITP to get the flywheel machined. then I KNOW they'd be running experiments on my bank account. speically when there's over a 50% difference in cost to do the same job and the other shop was only 1/4 mile down the road. Guess the bright side of it is I don't have to pay an extra 7% in sales tax thank god for tax exemptions!

Care to share which on then??? I can only find the LIPE1 and LIPE2 and the highest rated one is 2,400# as I posted the link to which doesn't seem to work now, so here's the screen shots... I might be interested if there is a better one

I think I read in the garage section that Lipe will build custom clutches to handle more torque and horsepower than the two you linked.

    SHC Thanks this.

That makes sense to me. I was going to go with a LIPE but couldn't wait the week it would have taken to get the clutch. So far my 2050 Easy Pedal is doing fine, so far so good.

Hey Triplesix, did you ever find out which LIPE had the 4,000# torque rating??

A few years back, I rolled into the Iowa80. Ran into this Bruce Mallinson fellow. Got to talking tech and he asked me about my engine serial number. I started with 2WS and he started talking about building hotrods. I asked about reliability and he reccommended for me the 3000ft lb Lipe. I asked if that was the strongest, and he said no, theres a 4000 ft lb Lipe. I figured I would go with the 3000lb.

I spoke with Kurt on this subject and he said that LIPE only makes the 2400# clutch. He takes them apart and makes some changes and they go to about 3,000# when he is done. I think you are quoting the plate pressure, not the torque rating.
