Nobody can tell you that > You need to know your expenses and what the income will b . No experiences in it sounds like you will fail . What about putting another truck in heavy haul that you are doing now ? A lot of guys do well when they O O but when try to put a truck on with a driver it fails . Because it is tough to get a good driver if not impossible

have a good drive for the truck he just has no experience in platforms or heavy. I just dont know much about the dryvan side. looked at the load boards seems pretty good. Just no experience in vans for myself. i have the tractor already its paid for, going back and forth whether or not to sell it or put it back on the road.

Than i would call Landstar see what they have to offer . You are going to lease with someone or do you have own authority ?

It's gonna depend on the driver and what their needs are.......lets say you can stay busy running $2.50 freight.......so lets say you can do 2500 miles a week with 10%dh miles.......

So 6250 a week revenue minus LS% minus fuel and operating expenses.........

    6250 - 2187 = 4063 minus fuel @ 6mpg including dh miles @ $3.85 gal. 4063 - 1765 = 2298 minus maint, tires, ins. etc so I will say .09cpm including dh miles 2298 -250 = 2048 ttt before driver pay and benefits.

I guess thats ok but then how much will the driver make and can you offer benefits.......if the driver costs you 1500 a week then that leaves maybe 500 a week left over to you......is it worth taking all of the risks for an extra 500 a week......who finds the freight, do you have time to be a babysitter, can you find the kind of freight consistently enough to be able to make this example work......dunno, still too many if's........and heaven forbid if something serious should happen out there then what, you get sued out of business.......

If you are considering selling the truck anyway, perhaps sell it to the "good driver" you are considering putting behind the wheel?
