I saw a few of those newer ones. They have windows on both levels now. Look pretty sharp.

Well, I've been with the kids all day, just me. I even ventured out to Bob Evans with them. I'm not going to lie, this has been a really trying day. I'm not as good as my wife is at this. You get so used to just being in that truck, with no one to worry about but yourself. I don't know how she does it 24/7 when I'm gone. I did manage to make it through with no one getting any serious injury. We had a few tantrums, a few fights (not me, the kids), but all in all we made it through. One more day to go. She gets back home tomorrow around 1430. Also I remembered to feed them. The dogs too.

Hey! y'all be in my "neck of the woods"! Bring your long johns... it's been "wintery" around here... and more of the "white stuff"... :biggrin_25523: roads are a bit on the greasy side. Be safe... if y'all have some down time, swing by CJ's Barber Shop (that would be me! :biggrin_25525: in Williston and get your haircut! Be safe out there!

I know exactly what you mean. It seems you can't wait to get home and or of the truck within a day or two. you can't wait to get back in. I feel guilty sometimes loving my family and thus job both so much

I know what you mean about taking care of the kids all day. Holy cows that's insane, I used to think it would be a breeze and maybe it would be easier if I wasn't getting woken up 3 to 10 times per night by work, but there are days they'll just drive you crazy.

    Treefork Thanks this.

It sounds like I might need to let you guys in on my secret about dealing with kids. I don't have c any of my own, but I have had a hand in helping raise my 3 nephews and 1 niece. What I tell you will work 100% of the time.

    Treefork and Bayle Thank this.

Well what's the secret? Also keep in mind I'm a father of 5, so I do know a little. ;)

If we already have kids, such advice really doesn't help much. I stated trucking because my wife was pregnant and couldn't find a high enough praying job. Thanks anyway.

Sitting in Lincoln, AL at the McDonalds off of I-20 and AL-77. Fox NOISE on the tube and every stereotypical SOUTHERN family has been in and out of this place. Some people shouldn't be eating at McDonalds.... me included! :biggrin_25525:

My advice is to chase your kids around the house and outside, it gets them extremely tired and exhausted. It works like a charm. Then feed them and put in a movie and they will fall asleep within 30 mins. Works every time. Great for naps and bed time.
