Trust me, there are days that I'm mad at the world and feel that this is my goal in life. Those days just get worse and worse. One day I'll learn... :)

My recap is on the right side of my daily log, easy to read and if they cannot comprehend that simple mathematical equation then Walmart will hire them.

Only have 8 days of logs in my loose leaf binder as well, they get what is required and that is it.

Perzactly. They can only look at more if you give them more. Had one in Ohio do that, because I had 10 days in my folder, and was removing the 3 extra pages when he greedily reached for them and told me I couldn't do that. Didn't worry me, as I log it as I ran it, and my software automatically does the audit and recap.

Not a thing wrong with that. You are only required to produce the today's and that last 7. That is just to corroborate being within the 70/8 HOS regulations. There is no real need for an LEO to need more than 8 days logs, and no regulation requiring a driver to have more than 8 days in their possession. This is a far cry from just stirring the pot by not doing a recap and making things more difficult for an LEO.

Not sure what it would have benefited that LEO, windsmith, by having a look at those other 3 days worth of logs. They wouldn't apply anyway. But, I guess in that case, he WANTED to make his own life more difficult. I sure would have no problem allowing someone else heap more hassles on themselves if they chose to.

It was Ohio. My guess is that he was trying to live up to their reputation of heaping as many violations as they can onto a single inspection. I'm really not sure why he pulled me in. I had no visible violations, was under 60K, and the only solid thing that he had was that there was no record of the UCR fee having been paid.

In Canada you are required to have logs for the past 14 days because their HOS require one 24 hour period off duty in 14 days .

I've read where Canada and the US will let you slide if you cross the border but are using your home country's HOS rules.

Been there done that . The first thing Canadian inspection stations check for is to make sure restarts were at least 36 hours , you have 14 days logs , and you have the license number of the truck and trailer on the daily log . Our e-logs have a place to enter the license plate numbers of each unit .

I only have about 10 of those green books lying around i have one in each tractor as well along with a csa manual,, and load securement manual and hos manual. I also have carrier enforcement (nebraska state patrol carrier division) on speed dial. I have asked them, consulted the books, etc. And im TELLING you you CAN be charged with a falsified log without signing it! Keep thinking that you cant itll bite you in the arse one day along with logging 62 in a 65. I. KNOW for a FACT how many miles I can LEGALLY run in a speed limit at 75 and you aint running anywhere near 700 a day. You must deal with some idiot leo's because running a single log thats fudged like you do shouldve landed you in prision a long time ago. Running 2 (or 3) logs is a horse of a different color i can do that and would do that long before i fudged like you did. And $2/mile isnt a good rate when you take 30% right off the top of that, take out .85cpm for fuel, .10 for maintenance,. .10 for your motor, etc and your banking what a company driver makes. If not less. And you cant use the excuse of not sitting at truckstops, or being home every weekend. Im home every weekend. I dont run 700+ a day. I cant stand sitting a truckstops, but i dont run 700+ a day. Guess when you end up in a accident and you DO end up getting hit with a falsified log on top being charged with being at fault youll get the message and learn. Like i was always told aint no sense arguing just let them learn the hard way.
