Like I said, spoke to him briefly. He parked to my left side and I was just done tieing down. I asked him how is Mr. Pape today. Looked at me funny. Told him I had met Eric awhile back and had emailed you some. Told him I have never met you, but Eric spoke well of you and the company.
He was strapping his tires on top deck and I hooked up the strap in the stake pocket as he was on the top deck..
Where is everyone?

He's just not the old school type like most of our guys...he's the type that lets you help him and then pulls out of the lot while you are still tying down. Like I said...different cloth.Logan76 Thanks this.

Hey cpape, saw a ugly tan shaker with your name on it down here in Fl last week hauling yellow ion. Was that color a surprise or something you guys requested?

Whenever I used to scale, I'd go in and the cashier would ask me my truck number.
I'd tell her "420". If she was an older lady and started laughing I would look at her and say "I'll bet your were dirty ol' hippy".
Then she'd laugh some more.
Then I'd say "Want to hear something really funny? I'm pulling a reefer trailer"
If this was 1970, I doubt if I would get any sleep at the trucks stops from all the knocking on my door and people asking me "Hey man, got any left"
MJ1657, Logan76 and blacklabel Thank this. -
The old man has always picked the colors. He has picked some good ones and some really bad ones over the years. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the early 90s FLD that was pink...yes, seriously pink.volvodriver01, milskired and Meltom Thank this.

Was dad burning some cowpies with mushrooms in the wood burner during the cold times.
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
I can just see you trying to get a driver in 90's to drive a pink truck. I like most of the colors I've seen of your trucks, including hors' truck, but that beige was too much. I've seen a few of your trucks down here lately, nothing to do with the weather in Iowa this time of year, right?
