Any thoughts as to why the governor works sporadically? Sometimes kicking on at 65 other times 68 most of the time not at all. Was very frustrating on the hills through Kentucky and Tennesee last week. The tractor is a 2004 Columbia- previously a Penske fleet truck.
Governor kicks on and off?

Because it's a 2004 Columbia. 99% of them on the road are absolute junk. I was parked next to one last night whos air compressor kicked out every 11 seconds...talk about air leak.

Thanks for the constructive reply...

You have an air leak some where. Watch your air pressure gauges.
When they drop to @ 100 psi the compressor kicks in. Then when it gets to 120 or 130 it will cut out.. -
Thanks for the constructive reply. Your 1 year of experience qualifies you to say little...you are good at that BRAVO!! -

Mjfmjf I had a freight shaker once did same thing spent a week in shop while on home time they didn't know.

I am going to guess that it is more a problem with the air drier then an air leak.
-
how does an air dryer affect the truck speed? lol air dryer affects the air inside the tanks so no water gets in.
-
I think some people thought he meant the governor for the air system, not governed speed.
