At home...leaving out tonight for auburn wa..hung my chains today since I had nothing else pressing at home..that and i didnt feel like wrestling with chains at midnight...also did some spring cleaning of my side boxes..... then went back the house and put my mudflaps on my pickup...in the process broke 4 drill bits...oh well could have been worse I guess...

You know, the only thing that bugs me about autos is when brand new drivers start on them and don't get any manual experience.
Voyager1968 Thanks this. -
Sitting at exit 16 off of 90 in montana...was hoping to get further today...(other side of Idaho) but mother nature was uncooperative to say the least...so I have a 7 hour drive ahead of me tonight to make my first appt time.....
now how was mother nature uncooperative you say...well lets just say first we had a nice coat of ice on the roads out of wyoming...then clear roads with lots of wind...then icy roads with lots of wind...then some nice snow to add to the fun...followed by more ice.....then everyones favorite black ice...then back to snow and ice until Missoula....then it was hammer down and let her roll....but alas my electronic babysitter would not let me go any futher today...
in other news...it seems my prepass is quite worthless...over the last month I have not been green lighted or red lighted for that fact anywhere...i push the test button and it beeps and lights up but no one is letting me pass the scale houses.....I better talk to Doug or Tim about that.... -
Talk to Janet about that one.
Montana I'm sorry to say what Tim told you was pretty optimistic at the least about doing that triangle and getting home for the weekend every weekend. I had a hard enough time getting the stars to align for an out and back by Friday or Saturday. If I could have done that every week I'd still be there. So let me know if things have changed! -
I got a questions for you guys that moved on, did you guys give Tim or Your fellow dispatcher a week or two heads up before leaving?? I got a bit of a jam I'm in...
-
Yeah, I gave notice. Then I bumped up by a week because my new boss wanted me out in the field in a hurry. Tim wasn't particularly pleased...but everybody knows you do what you gotta do.

Sorry BB I will not be going to Van Wyk as of now. Someone very near to me all my life was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I am trying to find a company that can have me home at least 3 or 4 days a week where i live. Sucks that i had to tell Tim, but it would serve me no purpose being on the road all those days while my thoughts were at home ya know. Trucking is brutal sometimes i wonder why i even got into this buisness.

Hey Mic, Janet sent out a message yesterday saying she ordered 98 new PrePass transponders that are in and they are in your folder in the lounge. If you get a new one just make sure to give the old unit back to her so we can get the deposit back.
Mic Thanks this. -
Very sorry to hear that Montana. Thoughts and prayers for you and yours.
For all those reading now and in the future, I certainly don't mean to bash. I really enjoyed working at VW and would consider working there again if I could leave Monday and be home Friday 75% of the time, without dealing with Waynesboro and their regional, load all day drive all night, hurry up and wait freight. My point is Midwest drivers are only 25% drop and hook on an out-and-back from the PA/NJ area, so within 5 days you have 3 good opportunities to get screwed between typical reefer freight BS, brokers, and the elog. Half the weeks that everything else goes right, you either get stuck at home Monday for lack of backhaul freight or stuck in Sheldon because our biggest customer is light that week. Still VW gives you plenty of home time either way and will pay you a decent wage. Just don't count on every weekend. It's still trucking.
