I am shopping for insurance for my first truck, and have two quotes. One is from Truck Insurance Mart in Edwardsville KS, the other is from RigQuote in Salt Lake City. Does anybody know if one is better than the other? Or have any dealings with either?

I guess no one has used or heard of either of these companies. Does anyone have advice or know of a reputable insurance company for a first time O/O?

Where you are based out of will make a world of difference as agents must be licensed in your state to issue insurance. Try OOIDA, Progressive, and at least list your state in your profile so more people can be of assistance. Through my agent, I had Northland most of the time I had my authority. I'm based out of FL and paid less than 6,000 a year with reefer breakdown, trailer interchange up to $35,000 and 1 million/100k. The last time I paid a premium though was 2009.

I'm based out of North Carolina and added that to my profile. OOIDA was my first choice, they said they couldn't insure me and Progressive doesn't write commercial policies in NC. The RigQuote quote is the lower of the two, just want to make sure it is good insurance. Lowest price isn't always best.

What insurance company is it. The agent company really doesn't matter a whole lot. Try Benton and Parker in Charlotte. When my independent agent retired, he sold his company to them and had them for a year as my agent , and they took on all of his employees. They are all still there 5 years later according to their website, so that says something.

Progressive has changed their insurance a little. 6 mont policy or 12 month policy both must be paid in full.

I am in NC and am VERY happy with Philip Bye with Bye Insurance in Raleigh - 919.819.7415. Tell him Josh Farmer referred you (although I have no financial interest in the referral). He handles our OTR trucking company and garbage hauling company, is very responsive and knows his NC trucking company insurance options very well.
